About Me

Sarah-Jane Ryan MIAHIP, MICP

Originally from Dublin, Ireland, I lived in Berlin from 2016 to 2021, and worked with a large client group from many different backgrounds.

Prior to that, I graduated with an MA from University College Dublin in 2008 and trained for three years with the Tivoli Institute, obtaining a diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy in 2012. I received full accreditation with the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy and the Irish Council for Psychotherapy in 2016.

I have worked in several clinics in Dublin including Monkstown Therapy Centre, Insight Matters, and the Hanover Medical Centre.

Ongoing supervision with an accredited supervisor and continuing professional development (including courses on attachment theory, Compassion Focused Therapy, coaching, shame, mindfulness and HSPs) ensure I work to the highest standard of practice.

Testimonials

  • ‘Sarah-Jane helped me recognise elements in my approach to myself and to interactions that greatly contributed to developing more positive relationships and to solving a career impasse.

Throughout a most meaningful therapy course, and with careful attention to detail, to change and to my well-being, Sarah-Jane helped me see the connections between practice and convictions I held and difficulties I experienced. She additionally shared various methods with which to explore situations and feelings. With these, I approach everyday situations more reflexively, feel more at peace with myself, and continue to learn’.

  • ‘I had wanted to explore therapy for a while, but I was unsure where to start and felt quite anxious and daunted about the whole process. Sarah-Jane put me immediately at ease, and I felt comfortable speaking with her right from the first session.

Her approach is gentle and empathetic, but incredibly insightful. Through her continuing guidance and support, I have been able to start tackling some childhood traumas, and this has helped me to better navigate present-day issues and anxieties connected to my work and personal relationships.

Sarah-Jane's sessions have been an incredible resource for me, and have helped me gain a better understanding of my thoughts and emotions. Through continuing sessions she helps me build resilience, and I have started to feel much calmer in my daily life and better able to tackle difficult situations when they arise. Her approach works very well for me, and I would recommend her to anyone who is considering counselling or therapy -- it will be the best gift you can give yourself’.

  • ‘I am really grateful for how supportive Sarah-Jane has been in my process. She created a space in which I felt seen and heard. She has such a gift for seeing the bigger picture and understanding the deeper aspects of an issue. By having Sarah-Jane create such a space and then offer helpful insights, I was able to see things in my own life that I needed to confront as well as embrace parts of myself that I had been neglecting’.

  • ‘I've been seeing Sarah-Jane for over four years and can't speak highly enough about her approach to therapy. She provides a balance of deep introspection, thoughtful advice, and grounding techniques that help me to understand myself, my actions, and my past.

I feel that I am now more able to reflect on my past experiences in challenging yet rewarding ways, and can integrate this new knowledge into my everyday life. With her help, I have grown an immense amount and discovered successful ways to take care of myself and my well-being’.
